HUNTSVILLE, AL. – Yorktown Systems Group (YSG) is proud to announce that it has successfully achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2, earning a perfect assessment score of 110. This significant milestone demonstrates the company’s deep commitment to safeguarding sensitive information and meeting U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity requirements.
CMMC Level 2 certification affirms that YSG has implemented advanced cybersecurity practices aligned with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) SP 800-171 framework. This achievement enables the organization to securely handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and positions YSG as a trusted partner within the defense industrial base.

The certification effort was led by YSG’s Department of Enterprise Assurance under the direction of Dariam King, in close partnership with Manager of IT Dan Prewitt, the IT team, and corporate staff across the organization. YSG leadership and employees at all levels demonstrated strong engagement and responsiveness throughout the process, prioritizing security requirements and enabling rapid progress under a compressed timeline. The team successfully navigated evolving program requirements and complex technical, procedural, and organizational challenges while maintaining ongoing operations—reflecting both the maturity of YSG’s cybersecurity program and the organization’s ability to execute at a high level under demanding conditions.

Over the past year, YSG further strengthened its cybersecurity infrastructure, employee training programs, and incident response capabilities to meet the enhanced requirements of CMMC Level 2. The certification underscores the company’s proactive approach to evolving DoD cybersecurity expectations and its commitment to operational excellence.
With CMMC Level 2 certification, YSG is well positioned to support DoD missions requiring robust information protection and to continue its growth within the federal and defense sectors.
YSG also recognizes the contribution of its Managed Services Provider, CISPOINT, which joined the CMMC effort with limited lead time and quickly integrated into YSG’s cybersecurity program. CISPOINT provided critical technical support and expertise throughout the assessment process and performed at a high level under demanding conditions, contributing meaningfully to the successful outcome.
