Yorktown Awarded a General Services Administration (GSA) Professional Services Schedule

Huntsville, AL – Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. (Yorktown) was awarded a Professional Services Schedule (PSS) contract earlier this year by the General Services Administration (GSA).

GSA is the premier procurement source for all federal agencies. Under the new 5-year contract, federal, state, and local government agencies can access Yorktown’s services for services covered under SIN 874 4 Training Services: Instructor Led Training, Web-Based Training and Education; 382 3 Training and Educational Materials; and 871 3 System Design, Engineering and Integration.

Associate Vice President of Contracts and Administration, Kevin Wilson, said, “Yorktown is excited to be able to offer its Training Services, Training Materials, and System Design, Engineering and Integration services to all government customers. Through the GSA schedule program, Yorktown is able to streamline the procurement process and help government agencies execute their missions.”

HUNTSVILLE, AL – Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. (Yorktown) announces the selection of Mary Busby as the Employee of the 4th Quarter 2018. Mary Busby serves as the Contracts Manager for Yorktown’s wholly owned subsidiary, The Unconventional – LLC (TU). Mary joined Yorktown in April 2018, and it was immediately obvious that she would be a great addition to our team. She has developed contracting systems dealing with international contract offices in eight different countries around the globe.

Mary remains flexible to all management requests, school requests, and employee requests with an incredibly positive attitude. She has created an accountability process for all Live Environment Training (LET) and Isolation Immersion (ISO) course reporting documents, and she has taken the responsibility of receiving, reviewing, and filing those documents. Despite TU operating globally across multiple time zones, Mary remains available and prepared to assist at a moment’s notice day or night. She has truly shown her ability for adapting to rapidly evolving requirements and providing outstanding service to her customers. She is always happy and smiling, and her infectious energy and genuine love of life make her a joy to work with! Mary creates each Purchase Order and follows it through all the way to wire transfer completion. She remains in contact with every customer and PM throughout the process to ensure everyone stays informed.

Eglin AFB, Florida – Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. (Yorktown) announces the selection of Josh Hardin as the Employee of the Month for December 2018. Josh serves as the Special Operations Command (SOCOM) Language Regional Expertise and Culture (LREC) Program Test Examiner and resources manager (language and culture library).

In six short months of employment at Yorktown, Josh has assisted the command with scheduling 216 Oral Proficiency Interviews (OPI) Tests, proctored 141 OPI Tests, requested over 900 Defense Language Proficiency Tests (DLPT), and assisted with the in- and out-processing of 345 Soldiers and military personnel. Recently, he did on-the-job training to become certified at proctoring the DLPT, saving the unit a large amount of Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY) travel expenses. Josh displays integrity, honesty, good character, good morals, fairness, and trustworthiness in his day-to-day work. He demonstrates his dedication to Soldiers by performing extraordinarily and working until all assigned tasks are complete. Willing to accept new tasks, he performs at a consistently high standard and within the time limit specified. There is never a reason to question if the task will be completed. Josh’s honesty is authentic and never questioned by his peers, superiors, or Soldiers. He always treats co-workers and Soldiers with courtesy and respect. Josh maintains open communications with all Yorktown employees and Soldiers.

LREC Program Manager, Patrick Rousey, states, “In a short period of time, Josh Hardin has made a lasting impact on the LREC program. He consistently displays teamwork and a willingness to work with little guidance and limited supervision. Josh constantly strives to make improvements both in the execution of language testing and in the managing of the Language and Culture Resource Library. Fort Meade, Maryland – Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. (Yorktown) announces the selection of Dale Rock as the Asymmetric Warfare Group (AWG) Employee of the 4th Quarter of 2018.

Dale Rock joined the Yorktown Team in July 2017 as an Operational Advisor and now serves as a Leader Development Troop Specialist at Fort Meade, Maryland.

Dale has been operating as the AWG subject matter expert for subterranean operations. Dale is a key member of the team and is charged with delivering subterranean operations capabilities to active Army units. Dale has an outstanding ability to transfer his expertise across three training pillars of the Mobile Training Team (MTT); he exemplifies the Yorktown Guiding Principle of the Pursuit of Excellence. He provides heavy breaching, technical detection, and enabler integration classes sometimes with very short notice. No other member of the MTT has been charged to deliver on such a wide subject area in a short time span.

AWG Deputy Program Manager, Brendan Durkan, states, “Dale is an excellent Yorktown employee and a valuable asset to the AWG and his Squadron. His exemplary performance is deserving of recognition.”
