Huntsville, AL – Yorktown Systems Group (Yorktown) announces the Asymmetric Warfare Group (AWG) Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter, Mr. Philip Austin.

Since joining the Yorktown team and the AWG effort, Philip has had an immediate impact in the Operational Advisor Training Course (OATC), Easy Squadron, and the AWG.
Philip has a positive attitude toward co-workers, work responsibilities, and customers, and serves as a role model for others.

Philip has been instrumental in inventorying, repairing communication equipment, and recommending changes to infrastructure for the OATC and the Asymmetric Warfare Training Center (AWTC).

Philip took the initiative to the Easy Squadron Communicator in repairing failing IT networks and other communication equipment at the AWTC and was lauded for his efforts. The Group’s Support Company Commander recognized Philip for his leadership and expertise for his efforts developing and instructing a small arms validation course of fire for all GSC personnel.

On the most recent OATC exercise in Dahlonega, Georgia, the Easy Squadron Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Staples recognized Philip for the communication architecture established over rural and mountainous terrain. The Commander commented that "it was the best communications Easy Squadron had ever had.”

Philip truly deserves recognition for his work over the past month. He has quickly set about educating himself on all aspects of OATC, Easy Squadron, and the AWG. He has tackled projects with a confident, graceful determination.

Yorktown Chief Operating Officer Nick Fuller said, “Philip performs his job at the highest possible standard. His initiative to take on more than he’s asked – combined with the well-executed nature of his work – make for a model example of what a Yorktown employee should embody.”
