Huntsville, AL – Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. (YSG), is proud to announce the selection of Ms. Judith Roe as Employee of the Month for February 2018.
Judy is a subject matter expert Travel Program Manager providing expert advice, analyses, and assistance for Special Operations Command, Pacific (SOCPAC) at Camp Smith, HI. She has been instrumental in establishing processes and procedures for SOCPAC’s Defense Travel System (DTS), and manages and reconciles all travel-related financial transactions
Judy was heavily involved in the planning and execution of a SOCPAC exercise. She demonstrated great customer service through the support of this exercise with little or no lead-time. She generated all orders for the 24-person team, overcoming numerous hurdles unique to Special Operations missions. Her expertise in dealing with these multi-faceted challenges cannot be overstated. Judy demonstrated Yorktown’s core value of reliability by responding to the difficult requirements placed by the government shutdown. She had over 100 customers on travel orders at the time of the shutdown. This situation required her unique expertise to ensure regulatory compliance and to manage workflow across varying time zones.
Finally, the Commanding General and senior leadership lauded Judy for exceptional travel support to forward deployed members of the command who are on long-term orders in remote locations. Through her demonstration of Yorktown’s core value of open communication, she gained the trust of the command and, as a result, the command has relied on her for planning movement of personnel for exercises and deployments.
Yorktown’s Vice President, Operational Solutions Division Vern Tubbs said about Judy, “Her work as a SOCPAC Travel Coordinator over the last eight months has been exceptional and she represents Yorktown’s Core Values of reliability and open communication, to list a few. We are very proud of her accomplishments and are honored to have her on the team.”
