HUNTSVILLE, AL – Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. (Yorktown) announces the selection of Kimberly Walker as the corporate headquarters Employee of the 3rd Quarter of 2018. Kim Walker started working for Yorktown in August 2017 and based on her stellar performance was quickly promoted to Director of Program Control.
Chief Financial Officer, Suzanne Mathew, recalls Kim’s contributions to the program control team within her first year: “Kim has had a remarkable impact on the billing process. She built and trained a team that has achieved an impressively aggressive billing schedule, pushing out preliminary reports and accurate invoices to customers for approval in the first week of the month. She reduced the billing cycle for multiple programs by streamlining the supplemental reporting. Her relationship with our various customers is invaluable and has given them additional confidence in the cost reporting for their applicable contracts. She has built detailed projection reports for Yorktown’s largest programs that is used by operations management, contracts, and HQ staff.”
Kim is dedicated and determined to maintain clean and reconciled reporting for Yorktown and ultimately, our customers. She strives to improve processes, goes the extra mile, and works well with both direct and indirect employees. She does not hesitate to bring up areas she sees needs improvement in accuracy and efficiency. Kim’s work shows her dedication to perfection. She is determined to meet deadlines but is not afraid to communicate when the timeline is not realistic, which is a leadership quality highly valued at Yorktown. Kim can be relied upon to communicate any potential issue and recommended a path of resolution for accomplishing the final task. She is a motivated self-starter and determined to meet the task requirements. The program control team all agree she performs above and beyond expectations.
