Huntsville, AL – Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. (Yorktown), a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), is pleased to announce the recognition of Ms. Norka McCalmon as the Advisor of the Quarter for the 3rd Quarter 2015.
Norka McCalmon joined Yorktown in February 2014 as a Benefits Advisor supporting Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, NC. She was promoted to Site Lead in May 2015. Norka has been recognized on multiple occasions for her professionalism and dedication.
Norka joined the Marine Corps shortly after graduating high school and completed four years of honorable service with the 2nd Marine Logistics Group, 2nd Supply Battalion, at the Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC. During her service, Norka deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005 and 2007. After leaving the service, Norka earned an Associate degree in Sociology and a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate with Walden University.

She is very involved with the community and has done a wonderful job with outreach and special interest areas at her site. Norka continues to demonstrate that she has an exceptional ability to quickly learn new information. She delivers Benefits related information to Service Members with great success and was recognized at the most recent Basic Advisor Refresh training as one of the top performers at the training. Norka also performed very well with the new information that she delivered during the Advisor of the Quarter Board.”
