YSG announces Judy Whiren’s Retirement

Huntsville, AL – It is with warm wishes that Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. (YSG), a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), announces the retirement of Judy Whiren.

Judy came to work for Yorktown in June 2016 and was selected to be the Deputy Program Manager and Contract Technical Lead (West) for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) TEAMS Office Administration Support contract in July 2016.

Before coming to Yorktown, Judy worked as an Executive Assistant at the MDA since 2009 for both Alatec Inc. and CSC.

Judy’s knowledge of the MDA and technical expertise was critical to the success of the company during the transition of the TEAMS contract. She worked with contract site leads at Redstone Arsenal and various stakeholders to address potential concerns and ensure that the appropriate level of support was provided.

Judy will retire from full-time work on April 1, but she will be staying on with the company part-time to assist with new employee training and temporary backfill support when needed. In her free time, she hopes to spend more time around the house with her husband, David, and visiting with their children and grandchildren.

Chris Hardy, VP for MDA Operations and TEAMS Program Manager, says, “Judy played a key role in the onboarding and training of new personnel to ensure that we provided optimal support to the customer. On behalf of Yorktown, I want to say a sincere thank you to Judy for all her hard work and dedication. She will surely be missed at the headquarters office and on-site.”
