Huntsville, AL – The U.S. Department of State (DOS) Foreign Service Institute (FSI) awarded Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. (Yorktown) the School of Language Studies (SLS) Language Instruction, Curriculum Development and Testing Services contract on July 22, 2016. Yorktown is elated to support FSI, as well as work with our teammate Washington Language Center, LLC (WLC), a well-renowned provider of foreign language instruction in the Washington D.C. Metro Area. With experienced instructors for all levels of language training, Yorktown will continually research and analyze the ever-developing modes of language instruction and provide recommendations to FSI accordingly. As we become more of a globalized society, the need for immersive and accurate language instruction—which includes education on the culture and perspectives of the respective region— is crucial. More than 80 languages are taught by FSI; the hallways of the institution are both prestigious (they are adorned with flags from all over the world) and festive (you can often hear the celebrations of many holidays throughout the year).
Bryan Dyer, President of Yorktown, says that he is “overjoyed by this win. Yorktown is more than prepared to handle the smooth transition and execution of the FSI mission, providing quality language instruction to the officers, diplomats, members of the foreign affairs community, and other professionals who serve our country.”
Yorktown looks forward to welcoming the brilliant, unique men and women who have devoted a significant amount of their life to not only the mastery of language, but to imparting their knowledge to the people around them!
