Yorktown Announces Dr. Aziz Abbassi as Director of Language & Cultural Programs

Huntsville, AL – Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. (Yorktown), a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), has named the renowned Dr. Aziz Abbassi as the new Director of Language and Cultural Programs. In this role, Dr. Abbassi will implement faculty development programs, consistently ensure the fundamentals of language instruction are taught in a comprehensive, effective manner, and provide guidance to respective Program Managers and language instructors.

Dr. Abbassi earned his doctorate degree in Applied Linguistics and Foreign Language Education from the University of Texas at Austin. He previously held several foreign language management positions and has taught at various universities, government schools, and private institutes. He has experience as a professor of English, Arabic and French, as well as in the role of a faculty development specialist. Dr. Aziz is a prominent member in numerous national and international foreign language testing committees and councils. Dr. Abbassi began working with Yorktown in November 2015, providing his expertise to Yorktown as the company diversifies its capabilities and customer base.
