Huntsville, AL – Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. (Yorktown), a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), has named Mr. Steve Sabia and Ms. Tamara Goehler as the Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager, respectively, of the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) Language Instruction, Curriculum Development and Testing Services contract.
As members of the FSI Leadership, Steve and Tamara work closely with the FSI instructors, a disparate group of men and women from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. They oversee daily operations in the Washington DC area, which includes mentoring, coordinating necessary training, monitoring performance, and ensuring all program goals are achieved. Both Steve and Tamara have a rich history with language, program control, and performance testing.
Steve learned the Russian language as an Army Foreign Area Officer with a Eurasian specialty. He continued his Russian studies during his graduate work at Yale and later at the George C. Marshall Center for Security Studies in Garmisch, Germany. As a liaison officer to the Russian Airborne and a Nuclear Weapons Facility Inspector, he managed assessments in Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, and Kazakhstan. Steve is active in Boy Scouts of America and has held several volunteer positions at his local organization.
Tamara is a native of the former Soviet Republic of Georgia; she was born and raised in the capital city of Tbilisi. She graduated from Pushkin Pedagogy Institute with a BA in Russian Language and Literature and an MA in Education. She is fluent in Georgian, Russian, and English. After immigrating to the United States, she began her work with the US Special Operations Command. She currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia, with her husband Todd, a Foreign Service Officer.
